Carey Insurance was first created and established by Bob Carey, Mike Carey’s grandfather in 1969. Although Bob went on to pursue other ventures, and ultimately sold it in 1989, as Mike puts it, “I wasn’t quite old enough to get into the insurance business at the age of 5.” So, after finishing college at Florida State, he moved back to Ocala, with his then-fiancé-turned-wife, Jenn in 2008. He entered the insurance business with a small independent agency and found his calling to serve the people of Ocala and the surrounding areas. Mike opened the Carey Insurance you know today, in 2010, and has never looked back. He believes in a local agency feel, where staff can truly understand their customer’s needs. Carey Insurance strives to offer all insurance services under one roof: homes, renters, automobiles, ATVs, boats, RVs, businesses, and life.
